![]() A series of exciting Pan-Icarian events have already been set, so get ready for what’s ahead! My hope is that you continue to support the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood by staying actively engaged in chapter events. Youth Leadership Conference As many of you know already, the 2020 Youth Conference will be held in Chicago, Illinois on April 3-5th . With delegate applications due by February 15th, there is still time for you to register and participate in this year’s conference. This year’s conference will include a series of fun and productive events, so please encourage all youth members (ages 18-35) to participate. If you have any questions, or would like additional information, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to meeting and working with this year’s delegates! Supreme Lodge Meeting The next Supreme Lodge meeting has been scheduled for March 14th and will be hosted by Chapter Kavo-Papas in Houston, TX. I’m especially looking forward to this meeting, as it is the first time the Supreme Lodge will be visiting our Icarian Sisters and Brothers in Houston. If you or your Chapter members have any topics that you would like discussed, please feel free to contact me directly. Assistance Requests Made to the Brotherhood The philanthropic endeavors of the Brotherhood have long been the element of our great organization which I am most proud of. Throughout the years we have assisted and supported those in need, both domestically and abroad. As we continue our efforts, we have developed a new process for requesting funding for projects and assistance from the Brotherhood and Foundation here. This new electronic format will allow us to efficiently compile requests and quickly respond to those in need. Beginning today, anyone interested in requesting funding from the Brotherhood and/or Foundation is urged to complete and submit a grant application. Applications will now be reviewed throughout the year. We hope that this new process will improve communications and increase transparency around the funding request process, create more uniformity in our processes, and allow us to address requests for assistance more quickly. In closing, the success of the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood rests in the hands and hearts of its members. We must continue to support each other, participate in chapter events, and resist the many distractions we face in the world today. The months ahead hold a series of Icarian events throughout the country. Florida, New Jersey, Cleveland, Pittsburg, New York, and Toronto are only a few of the many locations that already have events scheduled. I hope you and your family make a point to attend some of these events and make the Brotherhood a part of your life. Through your support and participation, our strong heritage will continue to thrive. Fraternally Yours, Damianos T. Skaros President Pan-Icarian Brotherhood of America “Icaros” |
