January 2019

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I hope this message finds you well, and as many of us brace for inclement weather, I pray you and your family remain safe. 2018 was a tremendous milestone year for our great organization; and as we commence 2019, I am confident that with your help we can continue our momentum and bring the Brotherhood to even greater heights. Already, a series of events and philanthropic endeavors are being developed for the year ahead and I encourage you to continue to support the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood and share news and progress from your home Chapter.

Youth Leadership Conference
The 2019 Youth Conference will be held in Clearwater, Florida on February 15th – 17th . I would like to thank Chapter Helios for hosting the event in conjunction with their 42nd Annual Icarian Winter Glendi. The combination of both events will make for a fun and productive conference and I hope you are able to attend these great events!

The annual Youth Conference has been a driving force in not only educating the youth on the origins and philanthropic achievements of the Brotherhood but investing in the future of the Brotherhood. More information on the event and dinner dance can be found on our website’s events page.

Supreme Lodge Meeting
The next Supreme Lodge meeting has been scheduled for March 9th and will be hosted by Chapter Atheras (Philadelphia) in conjunction with their annual Icarian dinner dance – located in Cherry Hill, NJ. I encourage you to attend our second lodge meeting and enjoy the Icarian festivities that Chapter Atheras has planned, it will be a great event! Additional information on the event can be found on our website: https://pan-icarian.comevents/

Ikarian Cultural Enrichment Program
The Ikarian Cultural Enrichment Program was an idea first established to help celebrate and preserve our strong heritage, and I am pleased to announce that the Brotherhood has re-opened the deadline for applications for the program once again. To help preserve our Ikarian culture, up to $3,000 has been budgeted by the Pan-Icarian Foundation to fund one or several mini grants relating to the Ikarian diaspora or the island of Ikaria (i.e. the culture, history, art etc.).  Additional information will be available on our website (https://pan-icarian.comfoundation/), and applications should be completed and returned by July 1, 2019 to Foundation Director Terry Platis at [email protected].

I would like to thank you once again for your continued support and dedication to the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood of America. I’d also ask that you keep me and the rest of the Supreme Lodge officers aware of any upcoming meetings, gatherings, or events that you and your Chapter will be hosting in the coming months, as we are always wanting to visit you.

Fraternally Yours,
Damianos T. Skaros
President
