Febuary 2019

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As we journey through the few remaining weeks of winter, my hope is that you and your Chapter are well and have begun setting goals for the year ahead. While we have achieved many milestones throughout our history, we must continue to challenge ourselves in order to bring the Brotherhood to even greater heights.

While it has been a busy start to 2019, I wanted to share a few key items that have unfolded since my last message to you.

Youth Leadership Conference
This past month, I had the pleasure of attending our annual Youth Leadership Conference, which was held in Clearwater, Florida. This year’s conference was another great success, with representation from 13 Chapters and a total of 33 delegates attending the conference, activities, and winter glendi. The weekend proved to be productive, as delegates not only learned about the Brotherhood and how they can become more involved, but also shared their own ideas and vision for the future. This annual event brings together the leaders of tomorrow, and after interacting with them throughout the conference, I am confident that the Brotherhood is in very capable hands for generations to come. Thank you to our Youth Governor, Yianni Fragos, the delegates who attended the conference, and Chapter Helios for hosting this important event.

Ikarian Firefighters Funding Drive
The Supreme Lodge has received a request from the fire brigade of Ikaria, who have specific equipment needs necessary to save lives and fight fires on the island. In response to their call for assistance, the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood of America will be initiating a funding drive to assist in this worthy cause. More information will be disseminated in the coming weeks, with details on the request and how to donate. As always, donations to this and other causes can be made by check or through our website at: https://pan-icarian.comproduct/donate/

Membership Drive Update
Our annual membership drive will continue through the month of April, and I am happy to report that participation has been strong once again. Last year’s drive was a huge success, helping us achieve membership numbers not obtained since 2005. I challenge each Chapter to work diligently with their members and participate in this year’s drive. Further information can be obtained through our website or by contacting District Governors Chrissa Lefes and Erica Aivaliotis.

Supreme Lodge Meeting
The next Supreme Lodge meeting will be held on March 9 th and will be hosted by Chapter Atheras (Philadelphia) in conjunction with their annual Ikarian dinner dance – located in Cherry Hill, NJ. We encourage all members who are interested to attended, or share with me any specific items that you would like discussed at the meeting.

I would like to thank you once again for your continued support and dedication to the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood of America. Your involvement is why our great organization continues to grow and prosper. Please keep me and the rest of the Supreme Lodge officers aware of any upcoming meetings, gatherings, or events that you and your Chapter will be hosting in the coming months, as we are always wanting to visit you.

Fraternally Yours,
Damianos T. Skaros
President
