Our beloved “Kiki” Kotsagrelos Tratras of Houston passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family and devoted friend to those who knew her best.She was 86 years old.
She was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA to George and Emorfia Kotsagrelos, Greek immigrants from the island of Ikaria. In 1961 she married Nicholas G. Tratras and together they moved to Houston to start a new life where they raised two children.
Over the years, Kiki was a devoted member of the Houston Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She was a member of the Houston Ladies Philoptochos Society and participated in the annual Greek Festival. Additionally, she was an active member of the local chapter of the Pan-Ikarian Brotherhood and served as a District Governor for the Supreme Lodge.
Kiki enjoyed her time with friends and family, found passion in playing golf at Raveneaux Country Club for many years, playing Bunco, and enjoying her ladies’ luncheons.
She is survived by her daughter Nicole (Bill) of Lawrenceville, GA and son George (Kim) of Houston, TX. Kiki was also the proud and loving Yiayia to her grandson, Army SPC Nicholas Geno Tratras, who is currently serving his country in Okinawa, Japan.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., October 24th, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Boulevard, Houston, followed by Trisagion prayers and the funeral service. The funeral service will also be live streamed at https://www.agoc.org/. The graveside service will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Houston Ladies Philoptochos Society or the Pan- Ikarian Foundation of America.
