George Achedafty beloved husband of the late Ethel (nee Pastis); father of Mary Kay Safos (Zach) and James (Julie) of CA; grandfather of Xenya and Yianni; brother of Joann of CA, Toula of Greece and the late Nick; uncle to many. George was born in 1927 in Greece and grew up during the depression and WWII. In 1947 he emigrated from Greece to the United States where he was reunited with his father. He was a member of the AHEPA and Pan-Icarian Brotherhood. He loved ocean fishing and gardening, especially growing fruit trees. He enjoyed playing, coaching and watching soccer. He retired as a painter from the Los Angeles Water District. Proud U.S. Army Veteran.
